Overview

Bokly ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Bokly iOS app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Phone number	Required to approve or borrow books; shared with the counterparty on approval
Precise location	Sorts nearby books in the Explore tab; stored to help others find books near them
Profile photo	Optional avatar shown across the app
Device token (APNs)	Delivers push notifications for borrow requests, approvals, and returns

We do not collect data for advertising or tracking purposes.

2. Third-Party Services

Supabase

Database, authentication, real-time events, file storage. Privacy policy

Stripe

Payment processing. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure sheet and are never seen or stored by Bokly. Privacy policy

Apple Sign in with Apple / Google OAuth

Authentication only.

3. How We Use Your Data

✓App functionality — matching borrowers with lenders, facilitating payments, sending notifications
✓Safety — enforcing one active borrow per user, restricting accounts with unreturned books
✓Support — responding to enquiries sent to support@bokly.app

We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

Your phone number is shared with the book lender when a borrow request is approved, and with the borrower when the lender approves. This is the core mechanic of the app and is disclosed at the time of the action.

Your location is used to calculate proximity to other users' books. We do not display your exact address.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes your profile, books, borrow history, inbox messages, and device token. Authentication records held by Supabase are also deleted.

6. Your Rights

✓Access the data we hold about you
✓Correct inaccurate data (edit your profile in-app)
✓Delete your account and all associated data (in-app)
✓Withdraw location permission at any time (iOS Settings → Bokly → Location)

7. Children

Bokly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
